On 14 and 18 October 2016, the Fiji Trade and Investment Symposium took place in Sydney, Australia and Auckland, New Zealand, respectively. The symposium focused on showcasing Fiji as an ideal investment destination to the Australian and New Zealand market. The event was opened by the Prime Minister, the Hon. Voreqe Bainimarama, and attended by New Zealand’s Ambassador for Pacific Economic Development, Mr Matua Shane Jones.

Speakers included stakeholders from ANZ, Telecom Fiji Ltd and Solander Ltd to name a few. Mindpearl, Fiji’s largest 24/7 contact centre and BPO operator, was honoured to speak at the event. Mark Mahoney, Mindpearl’s Commercial Director Asia Pacific delivered a keynote on the reasons Mindpearl decided to open an international outsourcing contact centre in Fiji. In a packed, but entertaining session, attendees learned more about Fiji’s contact centre industry, from its native English-speaking workforce, renowned for friendly customer service, to its robust infrastructure, low attrition, and 50% or more cost savings over traditional onshore facilities.
