Mindpearl Commemorates Fiji’s Second Shortlisting as 2016’s Outsourcing Destination of the Year

Fiji has been shortlisted as the Outsourcing Destination of the Year in the Global Sourcing Association (GSA) Awards 2016. The finalists and winners were announced at the  official Awards Ceremony that took place in the 5-star Intercontinental, Park Lane, London on the 10 November 2016.

Driven by demands in the outsourcing environment to offer a high quality and low cost English language alternative to those established offshore locations such as India and the Philippines, Mindpearl broke with convention and opened an outsourced international contact centre in Fiji in 2009. With increased negative publicity around overall customer experience, language barriers and cultural dis-connect in these more established locations, Mindpearl was looking for an alternative which would ensure competitive rates and reduced operational costs, without compromising on quality or customer understanding and friendliness. This unconventional location for BPO offered the perfect complement location to Mindpearl’s existing state of the art contact centre facilities which at the time consisted of Australia, Spain and South Africa.

“Being shortlisted twice in 2016 speaks volumes for Fiji as an Outsourcing Destination and proves that this location is more than just ideal for outsourcing but also promotes growth.  Mindpearl has experienced immense growth in Fiji in the past 7 years, having started as a unilingual centre focused on high quality English language support servicing 1 client, and recently evolving into a Multilingual centre supporting 13 clients in either Fijian, Hindi, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Swiss German, Portuguese or Tamil to name a few. Fiji continues to exceed our expectations thus this second award shortlisting comes as no surprise,” said William Pattison, CEO Mindpearl.

Kerry Hallard, Chief Executive Officer at Global Sourcing Association stated: “This is without doubt the most competitive year ever in terms of submissions; the quality of case studies evidencing outsourcing excellence across aspects such as relationship and contract management, innovation, service delivery and collaboration has made the judging process an extremely challenging one. Those buyers and service providers who made the shortlist should feel very proud to get this far as the bar has been raised considerably.”
