Mindpearl, award winning international contact centre outsourcer, is giving back to the community with a donation of R50 000 to the Volunteer Wildlife Services (VWS). VWS have been instrumental in ending the devastating fires in Cape Town this March. The Cape fires caused mass destruction to hectares of vegetation and residential homesin Cape Town’s beautiful Southern Peninsula.
The Volunteer Wildfire Services (VWS) have been combating dangerous and often deadly runaway fires since 1999. This donation will go towards theirFire Relief Fund to better equip and train firefighters for future fires in the Cityand assist with much needed operational costs, such as fuel, vehicles, uniforms and firefighting equipment.

The Volunteer Wildfire Services (VWS) have been combating dangerous and often deadly runaway fires since 1999 in Cape Town. Their goal is to save South Africa’s natural heritage, property and lives. With approximately 180 members the VWS have assisted the Table Mountain National Park and Cape Nature as a first responder with some of the wildest fires Cape Town has ever experienced. Working closely with other emergency service organisations in wild-land fire management such as Table Mountain National Park, CapeNature, Cape Town Fire and Emergency Services, Disaster Management, Winelands Fire Brigade, Stellenbosch Fire Brigade and Working on Fire has meant that the VWS has, to date, achieved over 39,000 active fire fighting hours between its members and stations.
