Press Release: Fiji shortlisted as Offshoring Destination of the Year two years running – 24 April 2014

Fiji has been shortlisted for the European Outsourcing Association (EOA) Awards 2014 as Offshoring Destination of the Year. This follows Fiji’s shortlisting for the National Outsourcing Association (NOA) Awards in 2013 for the same category. Often referred to as the Contact Centre World’s best kept secret, Fiji has all the key benchmarks and advantages that

put it on par with leading BPO locations. Fiji has managed to secure its position in attracting some renowned ICT and BPO investors, including Mindpearl, HP, Dell, IBM, Compaq, Acer and Cisco Systems.

The country’s abundant English-speaking, customer centric workforce led the International Monetary Fund’s Chikahisa Sumi to recently endorse and encourage Fiji’s pursuit of customer service outsourcing to grow its economy.

‘We are thrilled Fiji has once again been recognised by the outsourcing industry. There are a number of attributes
that can sum up the attractiveness of Fiji as a BPO delivery location for English language, but the simple answer for us is brand protection and a compelling cost advantage. We started our international contact centre in Fiji in 2009 to complement our global locations. I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions we made as a business, today we support 12 international brands from Fiji alone .’ says William Pattison, CEO of Mindpearl.

The European Outsourcing Association (EOA) is the centre of excellence in pan-European outsourcing. Their EOA chapters span across: Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, The Netherlands, UK and Spain. Now in its fifth year, the EOA awards reward and celebrate excellence and best practice in the outsourcing world. The EOA awards will be taking place on 10th July 2014 in London.
