Mindpearl – Principles for Sustainability, Global Operations

Mindpearl’s Commitment

This document formalises Mindpearl’s commitment to supporting the principles of sustainability across:

  • The physical environment.

  • The social environment.

  • Our economic approach.

 

Mindpearl is committed to managing its activities in each of these key areas, preserving our natural resources as well as the welfare of individuals while focussing on continual improvement in our performance. The aim of this document is to integrate a philosophy of sustainability into all the organisations activities and promote sound practice across our global operations. We achieve this by:

  • Informing staff and stakeholders of our commitment to sustainability.

  • Supporting the implementation of actions in our organisation.

  • Monitoring the progress of these actions.

Application of the Principles

  • These principles cover all employees, officers, directors, consultants, contractors, and casual workers.

  • This document is owned by the Executive Management Team and will be reviewed annually. Changes will be made at any time based on guidance or amended organisational priorities.

  • Suggestions for changes or additions to this policy are welcome and should be reported to the General Manager, Operations.

1. Sustainability Statement

At a minimum, Mindpearl commits to the following principles and practices:

 

1.1 Environmental Sustainability:

  • Complying with all relevant international, national, state, and local environmental policy, practices, regulations, and legislation.

  • Reducing the consumption of natural resources in daily operations, including water, paper, and energy.

  • Utilising renewable energy resources where viable.

  • Maximising the recycling of resources.

  • Disposing of waste appropriately and minimising waste.

  • Committing to the principles of preventing pollution to the environment.

  • Communicating this policy to all employees, contractors, and other stakeholders, raising awareness of environmental sustainability.

  • Reviewing procurement procedures to operate within the principles of environmental sustainability across our operations.

  • Reviewing its environmental policy annually and identifying improvements.

1.2. Social Sustainability

  • Complying with all relevant international, national, state, and local labour policies, practices, regulations, and legislation.

  • Providing economic well-being to all employees through fair wages and benefits and adhering to workplace policies that provide protection for Mindpearl employees.

  • Promoting a healthy culture of diversity and inclusion with no gender bias.

  • Zero tolerance to any form of modern slavery or child labour both internally and across our supply chain.

  • A commitment to providing a safe and secure environment for all employees, contractors, casuals, and visitors to our premises with no tolerance for discrimination on any grounds, sexual abuse, or harassment.

  • Mechanisms for democratic participation and empowerment of Mindpearl staff, respecting the rights of each person to be heard in a socially equitable and just environment.

  • Creating a culture of social wellbeing both physically and mentally through awareness, training and support mechanisms that demonstrate a genuine interest in the quality of life of Mindpearl employees.

  • Providing a safe physical environment, with policies and documented procedures for handling workplace hazards and safety concerns.

1.3. Economic Sustainability

  • Continual review of all procurement practices and processes to ensure Environmental and Social principles are met.

  • Adoption of rigorous sustainability practices when selecting and procuring across the supply chain.

  • Providing opportunities for localised, small business to participate in the supply of local goods and services such as catering, cleaning and supplies.

  • Ensuring a fair price for goods and services procured under the terms of supply contracts.

  • Annual reviews of all financial policies and procedures that impact Environmental and Social sustainability.
